Ukraine keeps implementing big infrastructure projects and it gives reasons for optimism. At the same time, state companies are still in fever.
The results of operations of production companies in the 1Q were an unexpected pleasure. In the environment of total chaos and the change of government the industry performed excellent. However, the state companies are rapidly decreasing the amount of production while the private companies are going for the record.
The annexation to Russia turned out to be a real disaster for Chernomorneftegaz. According to some not confirmed data, only for 1 month the amount of production declined twofold. The political component, or to be more accurate the threat of military invasion of Russia is still the determining factor for the future of oil and gas industry of Ukraine.
