OIL AND GAS OF UKRAINE SEPTEMBER 2015

 

Performance results of the industry got unexpected in September, gas production in Ukraine suddenly grew by 1%. This has come about with a help of two private producing companies -Neftegazdobycha and Burisma Holdings - that greatly increased gas production by 87% and 45%, respectively. For the rest, the situation in the industry remains dire, and the problems accumulated over recent years are not resolved. Oil and condensate production continued to fall by 11% in September. Still there were some encouraging news, in early October Verkhovna Rada voted in the first reading a bill on decreasing gas production royalty from the current 55% and 29% down to 29% and 15%, depending on the depth of production up to 5,000 m and below. If the deputies pass the bill, producers will have a chance to make up for all opportunities they missed over the last year.
