Dear SPE members in Ukraine and industry specialists

 

We are in front of the challenging times for the Ukrainian oil and gas industry to be brought to the completely new level where the best technologies and global practices will get us to the strategic target – Energy Independence of our Country. This is an ambitious but quite realistic task for all of us. The key to success is to utilize all of our local knowledge and experience and combine them with the latest technologies available worldwide. It is time to learn more about advanced engineering practices and capabilities, share the experience and work together as one team to achieve the best results for our companies. This is a good chance to realize our engineering potential and continue learning and improving our skills.

Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is the largest individual-member organization which provides the opportunities to enhance our technical and professional competence. SPE membership is constantly increasing and currently has 168+ thousand members worldwide and 190+ professional sections - Ivano-Frankivsk SPE Section that geographically covers all territory of Ukraine is one of them.

My name is Rikhard Bilyy and I have 29 years of industry experience. My primary responsibilities include operational and strategic management focusing on the growth and profitability of the private production company in Ukraine. I joined SPE in 1999 working as a senior drilling engineer in the first private production company in Ukraine. One of the reasons to join SPE was to get an access to the latest industry information on equipment, services and best practices available worldwide, get an opportunity to visit exhibitions and workshops and meet industry experts to gain more information and knowledge to be implemented locally.

I would like to share my experience with other SPE members and industry specialists, help the latest and advanced technologies come to Ukraine. What differs us from the others is that we work on volunteer basis and sponsor funds are on our local development simultaneously with the strong support from SPE International.
